In memory of John Kevin Van Cowart John was an avid outdoorsman. His dream was to win the lottery so he could buy hunting land and have it accommodate disabled hunters. John loved the outdoors and even though he was wheel chair bound, it never stopped him from doing what he loved. "Van" as his friends and family knew him, was recently taken from this world in a tragic car accident. On behalf of DSA, our prayers go out to Van's (John Cowart's) family and friends. Event: Whitetail Deer Hunt / Smith County, TN
Date: October 2nd - 5th, 2008
One of our DSA supporters offered to host a hunt on his private land to give a friend the opportunity to get back into the woods again. This was the second year for us to visit there and we were successful. Our thanks to the landowner who also constructed a shooting house for wheelchair access to a deer haven.
Congrats to Carl on his first archery kill in 15 years!
